Mission Statement

The mission of Millington Elementary School is to provide all students with the academic proficiency to think critically, solve problems, and communicate effectively in a changing society. The Millington Elementary faculty and staff join the parents and community in empowering students with the skills necessary to become successful, responsible, contributing citizens in our society.

Shared Vision Statement

Millington Elementary School's vision is for all stakeholders to equip students with the necessary tools to become effective communicators, independent thinkers, lifelong learners, and positive contributors in a culturally diverse society.

School Beliefs

1. Each child is a unique individual with a right to learn, achieve, and succeed in a safe environment.

2. Instructional methods based on educational research are necessary for student achievement and excellence.

3. Student performance is increased by the mastery of basic skills, the development of critical reading, independent learning, higher level thinking, and problem solving.

4. Data and ongoing assessment are used to monitor individual student performance and growth.

5. Students, parents, the school, and the community collaborate and share the decision making process which supports student learning.

6. Responsible citizenship, patriotism, and awareness of cultural diversity promote respect and appreciation of others.

7. The use of technology enhances assessment, instruction, learning, and communication among stakeholders.

8. Policies based on federal, state, and district guidelines are followed by the Millington Elementary School stakeholders.
